Push-Ups Part Deux
The Annals of History will tell you that Chuck Norris doesn’t do push-ups, but rather he pushes the world down.
We basically do the same thing, but as a team. Go Team!

We’re not an agency that brags about ourselves. We don’t tend to wax on about our work or our awesome clients that let us do work we love. So when someone else notices, well, it’s nice. And it seems people have noticed because Travel Portland and Sockeye won a 2010 Silver Telly Award!! (The Silver is their TOP award, since there is no gold…go figure.)
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!!!
Including but not limited to: Travel Portland (Greg Newland, Courtney Ries, Jeff Miller), the entire Sockeye team (Andy, Pete, Erin, John F., John G., Laura, Mr. Westby, Me), Tom Grissom, Joe Spencer, Brad Reeb, Alfonz Swinehart, all our friends, family, random acquaintances, and basically anyone that helped us make it happen. Congratulations.
Truly a labor of love. And what’s not to love—it’s about Portland. While it’s not here yet, we have already designated a special spot right next to our other Telly’s. Good times.

There is a painted backdrop of a river. The little plywood tugboat has a 12 on the smokestack. The MC’s brown sweater hangs well past his belt from the weight of hundreds of souvenir buttons. The cardigan is bullet proof.

It’s like wieden’s old spice centaur commercial—two things brought together. In this case, it’s gourmet dogs and fun design.
On a recent trip to NYC to visit friends (Hi Luis!) and family (Hi Ma!), I happened upon this fun little space.
I have a faulty memory, but here’s what I am recounting: crisp white subway tiled walls with a giant mural featuring a cityscape filled with happy cows and happy people, polished cement floors, a huge communal butcher block-style table in the center with wickedly cool slideout seats. For menu fare, gourmet sausages (beef, chicken, pork, turkey, lamb, asparagus) with your choice of sauce (cheddar jalapeno, horseradish mustard, truffle gruyere, chimichurri, sun dried tomato feta, mint yogurt). I was in dog heaven.
