Cinco De Drinko

We at Sockeye love holidays. Whether it’s National Handwriting Day or Mr. T’s Birthday, anything that’s an excuse for fun, revelry and beverages gets an A+ in our book. Cinco de Mayo is no exception. So to commemorate the Mexican Army’s defeat of the French in 1862, we did what any good neighbor would do, we raised our margaritas, dipped our chips and attacked a helpless paper donkey (it never stood a chance). Feliz Cinco de Mayo Amigos!!

How to make your own awesome Cinco de Mayo Party

1 Part Sombrero
1 Part Guacamole
1 Part Salsa
2 Part Chips
1 Over-Stuffed Donkey Pinata
Lots of Tequila

Cue the Mariachis…

I Heart NY

Sockeye’s beloved (feisty) producer, Laura, had mentioned one day that she was annoyed that everyone had been using her coffee mug whenever they wanted. Something about she stole it from a friend so it was officially her mug and that she loves NY harder than anyone else in this office. Yada, yada, yada. Laughter ensued.

Being the great co-workers we are, we had to do something. Stop using her mug? Not a chance. Stop drinking coffee? Never in a bajillion years. Play a prank on her? Bingo!

Seeing that Laura was getting testy, Shellie ordered identical I Heart NY mugs for everyone in the office, but didn’t tell her. We awaited the mug delivery with bated coffee breath. They arrived. Mugs were secretly dispersed. Then the next morning, everyone simply walked by and chatted with Laura while holding their brand spanking new I Heart NY mug. You could see the confusion in her eyes. Had her mug been multiplying as she anticipated? Was everyone sharing the same mug? What was going on? Then the light bulb went off…

“I HATE YOU ALL!!! YOU ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!”

Laughter ensued. Mission Accomplished.
